I am on a spiritual journey and I hope you’ll join me.
My greatest desire is to pursue a meaningful life through deep reflection, authentic relationships, and time seeking the Spirit. I like to write down my thoughts and prayers which usually center around God’s all encompassing love for everyone. I also love creating and singing music that has language which points me to the Spirit’s love. My purpose is to be in a genuine relationship with God and those around me. I hope to inspire you to think beyond this world, beyond yourself, to something higher.
As a widow, I found spiritual depth in the midst of suffering and loss. It made me contemplate my own existence in a way nothing else had. We have the choice every day to wake up and decide who we want to be and how we want to respond to the world around us. Will we seek God’s Spirit or will we seek our own ego? I struggle with it every day and so I write these words. I also share the words of those theologically-bent, spiritually-minded troublemakers who I call friends.
Bio
Laura is an intern pastor and worship leader @mosaicfumc at First United Methodist Church of Denton, TX. She is currently studying for a Masters of Divinity at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and graduates in May of 2022. Laura will also be commissioned as a provisional elder in the North Texas conference in 2022. She previously holds a Masters in Sacred Music and Masters of Music, Choral Conducting from SMU, 2010.
