This Wild Dance
Today,
Just today,
Let me rest in your hands.
Let my body give way
In divine surrender,
to the music’s rhythm
and flow.
Let it’s cadence be enough
For my weary soul.
I clearly see you
As you flutter:
through the ups and downs,
this dance of the wild
mind.
The monkey on its swing,
These flurries of unkempt perception.
So I ask: Will you bring me back
To who you are?
Through each glide upward
And plunging swoop to the
cold hard ground,
Your winds hold me
So I shall not be scattered.
With a delicate caress
Your holy movements
Guide me towards your design,
No matter how wild the ride.
Today,
Just today,
Let me rest in your hands.
For your spirit shepherds
my every step,
this fragile ego’s spin
and sway,
Through the dance’s maze,
And she whispers,
Let me lead you,
into a new song.
