Hi.

My name is Laura. I am on a spiritual journey and I hope you’ll join me.

My greatest desire is to pursue a meaningful life through deep reflection, authentic relationships, and time seeking the Spirit. I like to write down my thoughts and prayers which usually center around God’s all encompassing love for everyone. I also love creating and singing music that has language which points me to the Spirit’s love. My purpose is to be in a genuine relationship with God and those around me. Worship Leader @mosaicfumc at First United Methodist Church of Denton, TX.

Above the Clouds

Above the Clouds

Try to find a space inside yourself where you can strip away all the distractions from your life: the worries about the future, the anxiety, depression, disappointment, and fear. There may be gray clouds in your life, a storm raging, or a situation you cannot control. It may seem as though you will never see the sun.

Now journey past the storm, traveling up through the clouds. If you look higher, there is a warm, blue sky. Go even further above the clouds and find a place that is beyond, where the storm cannot touch.

This place, your true inner heart, your true inner peace, is what God sees. We must learn to find this place everyday and feel God’s presence. Wade in God’s unending peace.

God, you see differently than we do. Where we see only disappointment and despair, you see hope. When we see only darkness, you see that there is light. We discern a storm that will never end. You find the sun’s rays beyond the horizon. Your words says that “the Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” To our God that sees our true inner being, our blue skies, we give you praise and thanksgiving for your goodness. We ask that you continue to see within us and help us recognize inner beauty in other souls, where their true heart lies.

Amen.
