The Path
As you close your eyes and turn inward, I invite you to imagine yourself walking down a path.
What do you see around you?
Maybe you’ve found yourself deep in a valley, trapped with no rescue in sight.
Maybe all you can see is a mountain looming ahead of you –
too treacherous to conquer.
Maybe your path feels monotonous.
Like you’ve been stick on the same road day after day.
Or maybe you are on a path of light, but you’re unsure how long it will last.
Whatever path you are on today – I see you.
Now, look behind you at the path you have walked your entire life.
How many times did you have to turn back and pick up the broken pieces?
How many times have you stumbled?
How deep of a valley have you clawed your way out of?
What is the path that led you here, exactly where you are now?
No matter where you’ve walked, the path ahead of you is unwritten.
Your life is not set in stone.
When you look around you, do you see the hand of God?
Do you hear the spirit moving you?
Are you listening?
God, today we look to you to affirm our faith that you will lead us precisely where we need to be. We open our eyes to the wonder that surrounds us wherever we are. We open our hearts to you and to each other.
May we walk in your name – the name of Love – today and all days.
Amen.
