Rooted in Love
The art and practice of becoming Christian has one main truth: becoming love. So today we commit to that love in our hearts by using a spiritual practice called a mantra or affirmation. A mantra is a short prayer or statement repeated to imprint it on our hearts and remember it throughout the week as our own intention. So during this prayer I will say “God, we commit to You” and Your response will be: “Today I affirm to stand deeply rooted in Your love.”
Close our eyes…gently feel your breath…
As you breathe, breathe in God’s love that is all around you. As you breath out, let God’s love fill you from the inside out.
Loving God, how perfectly our hearts are made for love. We know that our true identity is to embody Your love in our daily lives.
God, we commit to You: Today I affirm to stand deeply rooted in Your love.
Divine Parent, let us make the decision to stick to love. Not because we should or we are supposed to but because that is who YOU are. That we give love through kind words and actions. Not just to our brothers and sisters around us but to those who we may see as other.
God, we commit to You: Today I affirm to stand deeply rooted in Your love.
Love is ultimately the only answer to humankind’s problems. For love is not just sentimental or emotional but is a powerful force in this world. We want to stand up for a strong, demanding love that may have to speak truth to power. Speak LOVE to power.
God, we commit to You: Today I affirm to stand deeply rooted in Your love.
As we build this love into our life, let us lift up those who need to feel your loving arms wrapped around them. So We lift up our brothers and sisters and say their names aloud as a community right now…
We commit them to you, God, that they may feel your loving arms around them. Let us live out this affirmation as we go forth from this place and be deeply rooted in love.
Amen.
